René Barbera, Florian Sempey and Alisa Medvedeva are the soloists on 2 November 2026 – an evening that continues Beryn’s long association with German stages.
On Monday, 2 November 2026, the Großer Saal of the Philharmonie Berlin will host the Operngala-Nacht, bringing together the Filharmonie Brno under Maestro Arkady Beryn and three internationally established soloists: tenor René Barbera, baritone Florian Sempey and soprano Alisa Medvedeva.

The evening combines celebrated operatic arias and duets with major orchestral works in one of Berlin’s most recognised concert halls.
Maestro Prof. Arkady Beryn has a long history with German orchestras and halls. From 2003 to 2011 he was Chief Conductor of the Internationale Symphoniker Deutschland, and he has conducted the Berliner Symphoniker, the Leipziger Symphoniker, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the Württembergische Philharmonie, the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin, the Bochumer Symphoniker and the Philharmonie Baden-Baden. He has appeared in the Philharmonie Berlin, the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Tonhalle Düsseldorf – where he performed with Aida Garifullina in 2025 – and the German press has described him with the headline “Dirigent Beryn ist der Star”. Beyond Germany his work has taken him to the Vienna Musikverein, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra; he has more than forty years of professional experience.
The soloists, too, are known to German audiences. René Barbera, the American tenor who became the first singer to win all three top prizes at Operalia, has sung Edgardo and Percy at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Ramiro at the Bavarian State Opera and Nemorino at the Hamburg State Opera. Florian Sempey, the French baritone celebrated for his Rossini Figaro, has appeared in concert with the Berliner Philharmoniker and the NDR Sinfonieorchester and returns to the Deutsche Oper Berlin this season as Count Almaviva. Alisa Medvedeva, a Saint Petersburg Conservatoire graduate now based in Geneva, has performed with Il Divo in Vienna and alongside Andrea Bocelli in Sardinia.
The programme leans on the core Central European and Italian repertoire. From Mozart: the Figaro overture, “Fin ch’han dal vino” and “Là ci darem la mano”. From Tchaikovsky: the Onegin Polonaise and the finale of the Fourth Symphony. A Dvořák Slavonic Dance – home ground for the Brno players. From Italy: Verdi (the Forza del destino overture and the Brindisi from La traviata), Puccini (the Manon Lescaut Intermezzo, “Che gelida manina” and “Quando me’n vo”), Rossini (the Gazza ladra overture and “Largo al factotum”), Donizetti (“Una furtiva lagrima”), Bellini (“Oh! quante volte”) and Mascagni (the Cavalleria rusticana Intermezzo). Bizet’s Carmen Prelude and Toreador Song and the Brazilian “Tico Tico no fubá” round out the evening.
The Philharmonie, opened in 1963 to Hans Scharoun’s design and home of the Berliner Philharmoniker, is operated by the Stiftung Berliner Philharmoniker. The Operngala-Nacht is listed there as a guest event.
The concert begins at 20:00. Tickets from €26.50 are available through Eventim.
